Director of Bands

 

Andrew Straight is Director of Bands at Custer County Consolidated Schools. 

His teaching responsibilities include the Wind Ensemble, Concert Band, & Beginning Band.

 

Mr. Straight began his tenure at Custer County in the fall of 2014, after moving from the Austin, TX area. 

While in Austin, he was Associate Director of Bands in the Leander Independent School District at Vista Ridge High School and Leander Middle School.

 

Mr. Straight is a professional Trombonist and brass specialist. His professional affiliations include the Colorado Bandmaster's Association, Texas Music Educator's Association, and the Texas Bandmaster's Association.

 

Mr. Straight loves living in the Wet Mountain Valley with his beautiful wife, Elanor, and four amazing kiddos Aurora, Milo, Iris, & Laurelin. He is honored to be part of the Bobcat Band family, and enjoys working in a community where music is a valued component of every child’s education.
